Frequently Asked Questions

Before You Commission Anything

The questions that come up most often before a project starts. If yours isn't here, ask me directly and I'll answer it straight.

  • 7-14 days for a Starter build, 14-21 for Growth, 21-28 for Scale. The clock starts when I have your content, not when you pay - waiting on text and photos is the single most common cause of delay.

  • You do, by default. You know your business and your customers better than I do. I'll tell you exactly what each page needs and roughly how long it should be, so it isn't a blank page.

  • Real photos of your work, premises and team always outperform stock. If you don't have any, I'll use appropriate stock imagery and flag where a real photo would do more.

  • You see a live preview as it's built rather than a single reveal at the end, which is when most mismatches surface. Revisions are worked through together before anything goes public.

  • A custom Elementor build rather than a purchased template, a mobile-first layout checked on real devices, on-page SEO foundations set up at launch, a walkthrough so you can edit the site yourself, and full ownership of the site and its credentials.

  • Hosting and your domain, which are billed to you directly by the provider rather than through me. Stock photography and paid plugin licences where a project needs them. Copywriting, since packages assume you supply the text. And ongoing maintenance, which is a separate care plan.

  • Any distinct URL with its own layout and content. A blog counts as one page plus its post template, not one page per post.

  • No. These are one-off project fees. You own the site outright and can take it elsewhere at any point.

  • Two rounds during the build. That covers changes to what was already scoped - colours, text tweaks, layout adjustments. Anything that is genuinely new scope, like an extra page or a feature nobody discussed, gets quoted separately rather than eating into a revision round. That keeps 'revision' from quietly turning into unlimited scope creep, which is what makes projects run long for everybody.

  • 50% deposit to start, and the remaining 50% before the site goes live rather than after. International clients pay through a Payoneer payment request - I send a link, you pay by card or bank transfer, and you do not need a Payoneer account of your own.

  • Yes. Everything runs remotely over email and scheduled calls, so location isn't a constraint. Most of my clients are in the UK, US, Canada and Australia.

  • Yes, and that's deliberate. Everything is built in Elementor, and you get a walkthrough at handover. Changing text, swapping an image, or adding a page doesn't require me.

  • Completely. You get the admin credentials, the hosting account is in your name, and you can move the site to another developer whenever you like without asking permission.

  • Both are billed to you directly by the provider, so nothing is bundled through me and you keep control. I'll recommend suitable options and handle the setup.

  • Every build ships with the on-page foundations right: clean structure, proper headings, title tags, meta descriptions and alt text. That's the groundwork. Ranking for competitive terms also takes content and time, and anyone promising a position by a date is guessing.

  • You can run the site yourself, or take a care plan so updates, backups and monitoring are handled for you.

  • Get in touch. If it's something I introduced, I fix it at no charge. If it's a plugin or host issue on a site without a care plan, I'll quote before doing anything.
